2024 Governance Review & SREB New Proposed Bylaws

Introducing our new bylaws is a momentous occasion for our organization, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated members of the Governance Committee for their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in crafting this comprehensive framework.

At its core, the Governance Committee plays a vital role in ensuring that our organizational operations align seamlessly with our mission and vision, always prioritizing the best interests of our valued members. Charged with responsibilities ranging from bylaws development to evaluating board and committee structures, the committee acts as a guardian of our governance principles, striving to uphold the integrity and effectiveness of our organization.

We recognize the importance of compliance with the Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act (ONCA), have diligently reviewed and revised our bylaws to meet these legal requirements.

This adherence is crucial for legal standing, improved governance, enhanced accountability, protection of members and stakeholders, access to benefits, and risk mitigation.

Under the expert guidance of Raquel Chisholm from Emond Harnden LLP, the Governance Committee has meticulously compared our bylaws to ONCA requirements, ensuring that each suggested change is thoroughly vetted and aligned with legal standards.

Today, we embark on a journey of strengthened governance, transparency, and ethical operation, and we welcome your collaboration in this transformative process.

We ask that you join us on April 11th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom for a full presentation on the proposed bylaws, articles of amendment and articles of incorporation.
